It's Our Party...

Dick Armey, former House Majority Leader, lays it on the line. In an op-ed in today's Wall Street Journal, Armey calls out the President and the congressional leaders, pointing out the "widening credibility gap between their political rhetoric and their public policies."

These things, and not the war, are the source of my ire at the current administration and congressional majority:

the largest expansion of government since LBJ's Great Society

the growth rate of discretionary spending adjusted for inflation is at a 40-year high

President Bush has yet to veto a single spending bill.

"there is simply no fat left to cut..."

Umm... guys... you won the election. In fact, you've won every election in recent memory. You get to set the agenda. Where is the party of fiscal constraint? You don't need to be Democrat wannabees. Armey says it best: "When we act like us, we win. When we act like them, we lose." Pretty soon, when the conservative base is fed up, they are going to lose, and lose hard...
